Plan Management for NDIS Participants
Plan management is a type of disability service funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The overarching function of plan management is to assist and support NDIS participants to manage their NDIS plan funding.
Plan Management can support participants by:

Managing and monitoring a participant’s budget

Managing a participant’s NDIS claims and disbursing funds to providers for services delivered

Providing regular statements to a participant to show the financial status of their plan including prompt notification of over or under utilisation

Offering increased choice and control to a participant over plan implementation and utilisation through additional plan financial assistance.
Participants can also receive advice from plan management providers about how to best utilise their NDIS plan funding which can assist in building a participant’s financial capacity and knowledge.

$104.45 per month payable by the NDIS as part of your plan
$232.35 set up fee payable by the NDIS as part of your plan

No charges to the participants, this is covered by the NDIS in the plan

Capacity Building and Training in Self-Management and Plan Management

This support item focusses on strengthening the participant’s ability to undertake tasks associated with the management of their supports.

This support intends to complement other capacity building supports to help participants to develop skills to have choice and control over their plan

Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coach
Once your NDIS Plan has been approved and received, participants can work with 5Paw5 Disability Support – Support Coordination to determine how their NDIS plan can be used, to connect with providers and to achieve aspirations, dreams and goals. We at 5Paw5 look at it as having all the links in your NDIS chain working together to be strong.

What is the difference between a Plan manager and a Support coordinator?
​
Plan managers work with plan managed participants. A plan manager pays providers for supports delivered, monitors budgets, checks compliance by a provider for ATO purposes and to ensure providers are not overcharging.
​
A support coordinator supports the participant to understand and implement supports included in their plan. They link the participant to providers and other community and government services. A support coordinator will also support the participant to build skills and direction.
